Business
The Year Course Business Track is designed to introduce business-minded students to the worlds of Israeli hi-tech, globalization, business methodologies and business ethics. Spend your year taking business classes, learning from industry leaders, interning with entrepreneurs.
What kind of experience is needed?
No prior experience is needed in order to be a participant in this program – only a passion for business and the desire for success! This program is appropriate for students who are willing to work hard and want to challenge themselves on the way to a career in the business world. No special Hebrew level is required.
Business Track Training:
In addition to the important work they do helping local business to flourish and volunteering with a myriad of business communities, Business Track participants have workshops during which they learn and train with business professionals on topics like:
- Foundations of Business Management – exploration of the foundations of modern management, including how external/internal environmental factors impact business practices
- Business Communication – focus on effective strategies for business communication, including formats for various types of business writing
- Introduction to Marketing Management – learn about marketing concepts and decision-making processes related to marketing management in a marketing firm
- Managerial Economics – focus on understanding and applying basic yet powerful economic tools of analysis which managers use in designing organizations
Business Track Academics:
As with Year Course Classic, all Business Track participants take two (or three) classes each trimester. Hebrew ulpan is mandatory during each trimester and Business Track participants take courses like Jewish Business Ethics:
- Listen to guest lecturers who can speak about how they “made it” in the business world, transforming their ideas into a prospered business
- Learn about employee relations in the global market
- Meet with business executives like Bowman Hall, Director of Cloud Computing Client Engagements for IBM and David Butler, Vice President of Global Design for The Coca-Cola Company
