Year Course applications are read on a rolling basis through June.  In addition to completing a Year Course application, all Year Course applicants must attend Year Course Orientation (YCO) in the Spring.

Application Data Forms:

$100 Non-Refundable Deposit: You can pay by credit card on the on-line form. This application fee is non-refundable. Applications will not be processed without this fee.

Autobiographical Statement: Write a 2-3 page typed autobiographical statement. In the statement, you should tell the reader who you are, what your family background is, and your interests, hobbies, future plans and expectations for the coming year. You can upload this to your online application.

Passport Photos: Mail six (6) identical, color passport-style photographs (not larger than 2” x 2”). Please print your full name on the back of each photograph. Place the photos in an envelope with your name on it and send them to the address below.

Letters of Recommendation: Mail two letters of recommendation to the Young Judaea office in New York. These letters should be written by people who can speak to your involvement in school, at work, in a volunteer experience, at camp and/or as part of the Jewish community. Examples include, but are not limited to a rabbi, Hebrew school teacher, high school teacher, job or volunteer supervisor, youth group advisor, etc. The letters can be found on the recommendation portion of the online application.

Transcripts: Mail an official copy of your final high school transcript to the address below.

Medical Forms:
Personal and Mental Health Forms: You will complete these forms online and then print and sign a confirmation statement that can be uploaded to your online application.

Applicants are not considered until all application materials have been received by Young Judaea. Receipt of application materials and deposit does not guarantee acceptance to the program. Young Judaea reserves the right at any time to accept, accept with conditions, or revoke acceptance of any applicant, in its sole and absolute discretion.

Important Note: Participation in Young Judaea Year Course is contingent upon the participant and his/her parent/guardian signing the Young Judaea Year Course Guide Declaration (to be provided in the Year Course Information Guide at a later date). The Guide Declaration and the Year Course Information Guide outline Young Judaea’s policies, procedures, disciplinary rules and rules including, but limited to, its policies, procedures and rules on drugs, alcohol, travel, security and participation. Failure to sign and return the Year Course Guide Declaration will result in revocation of acceptance to Young Judaea Year Course.
